Never Forget the Musical was written by Guy Jones and Ed Curtis, and uses the music from hit band Take That. Take That formed in 1990 and disbanded in 1996, only to rejoin nine years later to even bigger success than they had in the 1990s. Never Forget was written however, just as the boys were getting back together again, and so the musical only features songs from their days in the 90s, and none of their most recent hits since 2005.
In April 2006, the record label EMI licensed Take That songs to be used for a stage musical, and so the show was then put together and written. In 2007, Never Forget the Musical began a small UK tour before opening at the Cardiff Millennium Centre in July. The show again went on tour before opening at the Savoy Theatre in London with previews from 7th May 2008, where it stayed for over six months. It then went on tour again in 2009.
As of current, there are no plans to bring Take That back to the West End stage.
